EU sets out an EU Offshore Renewable Energy Strategy, part of EU Green Deal, setting target for 300 GW of offshore wind by 2050. The Strategy also lays out plans for 40 GW of ocean energy and other emerging technologies by 2050.
These ambitious targets build on the plan of 60 GW of installed offshore wind capacity and 1 GW of ocean energy by 2030, but will still require an estimated nearly EUR 800 billion investment over the next three decades.
